Cowgirl Up!

Last night we went to Jeff and Stacia's for our weekly Amazing Race visit and Tally decided she needed Uncle Jeff's boots and of course a hat! Stacia took these great pictures! My daughter is SO funny!

Quick Update

  • Tomorrow morning we head to the SLC airport! Stetson, Nanette, Deidra and Bud are all coming home!! Ryan and I think we'll probably leave earlier than is necessary so that we can visit his dad and let Tally get out and run for a minute before we have to hold her at the airport. After that it's off to the Golden Coral for lunch and then back in the car to Price. (Which is why we have to find a place to Tally to run)
  • Stacia's pregnant! I think some days I'm more excited than she is! Tally needs a friend about her age right? :) She's due December 5th that's all we know right now. We've all been teasing her that she's going to have twins.... Jeff doesn't think it's very funny.
  • I got my ribbon order. So I can start doing 4th of July/Memorial/Labor Day bows. Hopefully I'll get some done the week we're in Price, I'm not sure how much time I'll have though. AMANDA: If I get them done I'll be sure to call you and find out when I can drop them off! They will be SO cute!!
  • Also, Mother's Day. Very cute thing but I can't show you yet because it's not Mother's Day. :)

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

My baby sister's growing up!!

Around 4:00 yesterday my Mom, Grandma, Dad, Tally and I headed over to Vernal. We were there until nearly 9:30 and do you want to know why?? KARLI'S PROM! Yes that's right, my sister didn't go to her own school's prom...she's crashing UINTAH'S! Last night was spent doing hair, finger nails, toe nails and make up and then of course the dreaded getting in the dress. I don't know why girls (including me) buy dresses that take like 10 or 20 min just to get on! We do, and we love it I guess. After Karli's date picked her up my parents took us to dinner at Winger's and then of course the infamous trip to Walmart (can you go to Vernal without stopping there?) I hope Karli had a fabulous time. The picture isn't the best, I got it off my phone. I'll post a better one later.

Losing Weight....Hallelujah!

I won't tell you where I started, but I will tell you that I've lost 23 pounds since October and I'm super excited about it! I've never lost that much weight or even had the desire to, but after I had Tally my body defintely changed! I'm not done but I think 23 pounds is blog worthy and now that people know maybe it will inspire me to do better since you can quiz me and make me feel guilty now! :)
Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

Looking for a camera

So I like the idea of our video camera/still photo camera in one but I hate having to take the video camera whenever I want a picture. I've hinted very openly to Ryan that I would really love a camera for my birthday (in 3 months) but I have no idea what kind of camera. Okay if it were my choice it would be a fancy $1,000 camera but I don't think that dream will come true for this girl. :) Does anybody have a nice camera that they absolutely love!? I don't care the size but I want it to take really great, nice looking pictures. A close up "zoom" is a must, I don't really care if it takes video or not. Any suggestions?

Here fishy fishy!!

Last Saturday Ryan got up early in the morning and went fishing with Jeff and Stacia. (Needless to say Tally and I did not get up early!!) We met up with them later for lunch and a little bit more fishing. Tally was SO cute with her Uncle Jeff, they have become great buddies! They drove the boat together, he helped her hold the pole and she even got to touch the fish he got! I was so excited when I got the rest of the pictures so I could finally post this! It's been almost a week you know.

After Stetson gets home...

Ryan, Tally, Stacia, Jeff and I are all going to Price to stay with him and his parents for a week. We're trying to think of things to do. Softball, walks, card games, fishing, basketball, movies etc. I was just wondering if any of you have any great ideas of things you've done with your families or any great games that you love to play?
He comes home on Tuesday the 28th. Nanette, Bud and Diedra went to Brazil to pick him up on Monday morning and they'll come back with him next Tuesday. Technically we have no way of knowing if they made it. We got a text when they got their plane in Atlanta and that's all we've heard. Hopefully they will be on the plane with Stetson when he comes home. :)
We plan on meeting them all at the airport on Tuesday and then going to a big lunch with all his extended family from every side! Should be fun....should be loud and crazy.

Baby and Korker Ribbon Bows

Last night I spent way too long making bows for Ryan to sell on EBAY. When I started it didn't seem like it would take very long. I was just making some baby bows and some korker ribbon bows.

The baby bows went fast. I made 10 in a very short time and they were fray checked glued and ready to go.

Korker ribbon takes a while to make to begin with then when you add making the actual bow it REALLY takes a while. Let me tell you the process.

  1. You need long dowels and clothes pins to wrap the ribbon around
  2. Then you bake them in the oven
  3. When they're done baking you take them out, let them cool and then take the ribbon off the dowels
  4. After that you have to cut each long piece of ribbon into the smaller sized pieces
  5. Then you fray check them all (this takes forever!)
  6. Then using elastic string you tie the ribbons that you want together
  7. After that you glue on the clip
It may seem easy but it actually is very time consuming. Something I continue to forget whenever I start a Korker Ribbon Project!

(I actually made 11 Korker Ribbon bows but Ryan would only sell them in lots of 5 so I have a loner. :) )

Blogging Boredom

I know how many blogs that I look at... all that are on my blog and some that I find on other blogs and I think "I should really add them" but I never get around to it. It got me wondering. How many people actually look at my blog? Does "following" someone's blog automatically mean they "follow" yours in return, and if not, how is that supposed to make you feel? If "followers"actually gave close estimates as to how many people read your blog then I'm blogging for 4 people.

My blog could be best described as a public journal. If you read my blog you know pretty much everything about me. Blogging is also like having one-sided conversation with a lot of people. You tell them about you, they read it and then they get to come up with their own conclusions or ideas about you and you don't even get to defend yourself. It's funny that we put ourselves in these situations and call it fun.

Followers. We care about "followers," whether you admit it or not, the more followers you have the more people you're talking to and therefore your blog has more meaning. The whole idea of blogging is funny to me and yet at the same time SO addicting that I'm doing it all the time. (Like now) It's actually a great outlet for me and also a great way to let my family know how we are doing. Hopefully they check it once in awhile.

Family is why I started this blog. Ryan's family lives in and around Lehi and Price, my family ranges from 3 blocks away to SLC to Arizona. I'm actually trying to talk more of my family into blogging, my mom thought about starting one for her Business Lab at school, but that's all I've heard of.

Now that I've rambled for the last couple minutes about blogging I want your opinion.
  • Is there a point to blogging?
  • Would you blog even if no one read it but you?
  • Why did you start blogging?
If it's not too much trouble after you leave a comment perhaps you could make yourself a "follower" of my blog?

Finally Easter!!

I don't think I have ever celebrated Easter this much! After dying eggs twice, 3 Easter egg hunts, 2 BBQs and 1 pink chick it's finally here!!
(Brace yourselves this could be a long post)
Tally and her Easter Dress
Say "Cheese"
We waited to give Tally the rest of her Easter until Ryan came home from work. We didn't want him to miss any of the fun.
Doesn't it look like Christmas?!
Grandma and Grandpa Morris-- the vest outfit, a barn flannel board, the yellow stuffed chick.
Grandma and Grandpa Wilstead-- The yellow Curious George outfit, a big sucker (taking to their house) a chocolate bunny and crayons.
Grandma and Grandpa Kunz-- White stuffed Bunny, candy necklaces, eggs and an egg dying kit.
EASTER BUNNY!-- Bubbles and Bubble tools, the Disney Princess 4- wheeler and dress
Thanks to all our Grandmas and Grandpas!!
Checking out the stuff!
Sitting on the 4 wheeler before it had handles

Showing off her new clothes. She had to try them on right away!

On Monday morning Tally and I left for Price to take Deidra home. We saw Grandma and Grandpa Wilstead and stayed the night. Then we got up this morning packed and headed back home. I think Tally's pretty excited to see her dad. It's the longest they've ever been apart!

We had a great Easter! It was so fun to see so many friends and family in such a short time! Speaking of seeing people...we will see Stetson in 14 days!
(Some of us in 5!)

Happy Easter!

Dying Eggs AGAIN!

Ryan's sister Deidra came and spent the weekend and Easter with us. We dyed some more eggs and played hard! Tally and Deidra coloring a beautful picture!
Tally just loves her "Dodo"

The Famliy Easter Egg Hunt (Number 3)

My family got together Saturday night. We had a BBQ (indoors because of the rain) and then an Easter Egg Hunt for all the cousins. There was SO much candy and lots of toys Tally walked away with her basket over flowing! All the kids waiting and ready to hunt!
Aunt Karli helping Tally find all the eggs and toys!

All of Tally's loot!!

Easter Egg Hunt at Stewarts (Number 2)

The grocery store put together and Easter EGGstravaganza from 8-10 am on Saturday morning. It's mostly for older kids (decorating eggs, pie throw etc) but the Easter bunny was there and I wanted a pictures- or should I say FORCED a picture. :) She also got a little candy and the "zebra" froma a fish pond they had. They had a coloring station that she LOVED!

Admiring all her candy!
Trying to smile with a mouth full of malt ball!

Bubbles!

After the Easter Egg Hunt we decided to try out Tally's bubbles that she got in a necklace at the hunt. She LOVES Bubbles! (Bubs)

Colored Chicks?

Stacia and Jeff decided that for Easter they would get Tally a colored Chick from IFA. Here's is the pink one in the pictures. There's also a green, blue and orange one for his other nieces. The chick will be staying at their house forever-- that was the deal. :)
