Last Day of Night Lab

means you will no longer be getting weekly updates on us anymore! Not that I couldn't, I'm just not sure I will find the time anymore. 8 hours a week by myself on a computer as made it very easy for me to get a lot of things done and I am sure going to miss it.

The hardest part about this job is that it's from 3-7. I just feel like I can't start a project because I will not be able to finish it. Right now Ryan also has fire training meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays every week (my exact working days) at 7 which means we've had to juggle Tally and find a way for Ryan to get to the meetings since I have the car. (Our Sidekick still isn't working).

Though I will miss the computer time I do think this will be a good change for us. I will enjoy having my nights back and being able to stay home with my family.

Weigh in #13

FINAL WEIGH IN!
It's such a great thing that this final weigh in landed when Ryan was working because he always loses more weight on his 8 days. Today he weighed in at... dun dun dun
188.6!
We have to wait until tomorrow to find out if he placed but we are crossing our fingers for at least 6th!
Because he weighed in every week Ryan also received "Eat This, Not This : The Restaurant Survival Guide.
Ryan was grateful that the competition ended today because his company provided a big barbeque before their annual "clean up the highway day." I'm sure he treated himself very well. ;)

Released

A couple of weeks ago I was released from 2nd Counselor in the Primary Presidency. A slight relief considering I'm having a baby in 30 days! I was dreading the idea of trying to get 2 kids to church on time by 9:00 by myself and have a sharing time ready. Anyway.. I was released on Sunday and they called me in to see the Bishop Wednesday- not even ONE week off! I was dreading where I might be put. Relief Society? Sunday School? Scouts? All places that would terrify me! Turns out they want me to be an Activity Days leader. An every other week only on Thursday never on Sunday calling! Not to mention Ryan is home most Thursday nights. I went to my first meeting 2 weeks ago to watch how it's done. Tomorrow it's the real deal. I'm excited and just hoping I can find fun activities that will entertain a bunch of giggly 8-11 year old girls!

Weigh in #12

Ryan gained slightly this week, 191.4 and he's not very happy about it! He is looking so great though. If you haven't seen him in a while you would absolutely think he was wasting away and yet he's still not in the weight range that's "healthy" for him.

Competition ends April 28th so we've got one more week to go. Wish us luck!

Ryan's birthday

So here are the pictures to go along with the story I told a couple of posts ago. We celebrated Ryan's birthday on Friday, April 2 because everyone had Easter plans on his really birthday (the 3rd). His mom, stepdad and siblings were all able to come out. We had a BBQ at my parent's house and he opened his presents...with some help from Tally. :)

Biggest Loser DVDs from my sisters
A wheel barrell full of things for the yard: bug killer, soil activator, Weed & Feed, Crab grass killer etc.
From Tally and I
My parents gave him the exercise bench
Everyone on Ryan's side of the family gave him money except for Stacia and Jeff who got him all ready for a good season of fishing this year! He did very well for this birthday!

I had to include these 2 pictures of my daughter. Here she's dancing with Candice.
These bunnies are in my mom's entry way during Easter. Tally decided they needed clothes and toys I guess. This is what she came up with.

5 1/2 weeks left!

Today we went to another Dr. appt. Baby's heart rate is 140 and my stomach is measuring 34, exactly where it should be!

Tally has come with me to every appointment but one and she always asks the same questions. What are they doing to Mommy? (taking my blood pressure, which by the way is perfect!) Can you hear the heart beat? etc.

Today the Dr. asked Tally if she wanted to hear the heart beat. "Of Mama's baby?", she asked. Which led the Dr.'s next question to be, "Do you have a baby too?" Well of course my 2 year old has a baby in her tummy if mom does. ;) Today she was so funny about it that after he checked the "real" baby's heart rate he checked Tally's too! We didn't hear anything which I think confused her a little so the next thing he did was listen to her heartbeat! She thought she was so cool and she could hear "her baby's" heartbeat.

Can I just say I love my Dr?

Last time in Lehi...

at least until June or so. I've decided that I wouldn't want to go into labor in a canyon or sit in a car for 2 1/2+ hours anymore. We had a great trip. We of course had to hit Costco and WalMart for diapers. (4s and 1s if you can believe it!) we also took Ryan's dad and step mom out to IHOP for breakfast one morning. There was a guy making balloon animals there and of course Tally HAD to have one. What did she pick?....why a magic wand of course! She is still playing with it.

The highlight of our trip was probably the park. This is really the first time Tally has gotten to go to the park this year and she loved it! She could've played there for hours if we would've had the time! She also discovered ICEES when we stopped for a treat. She calls it "red ice cream." :)

Weigh in #11

Today's weigh in showed obvious progress! Ryan weighed in at 190.2!! I know without his heavy boots and work clothes he weighs closer to 186 but we really can't count that as far as the competition goes. Let's hope he can keep losing on these next days off! He says it's always harder when he doesn't have to work because the fridge is right there and he finds himself sitting in front of the tv a lot instead of finding the motivation to go work out. His job his basically walking and stairs with a limited amount of food so it's easy to stay in shape for those 8 days.

He's worried he dropped to 5th place this week though. Not losing last week really hurt his standings. It's still a money prize, but not what he's hoping for.

6 more weeks and I can join him!!

Dressin up!

Tally finally got to wear her Easter dress last Sunday because, of course, it was General Conference on Easter. We were a little late for church because I had to take pictures before we left. She just looks so dang cute! I love her dress!

Weigh in #10

Easter candy + birthday weekend + weigh in =  a slight gain.

This week Ryan weighed in at 195.2. I don't know if that keeps him in 3rd or not but considering what he was tempted with this last weekend it's pretty amazing!

Animal Alphabet

Ryan and I finished blanket #3 yesterday! Sewing with me does make him a nice husband yes, but he confessed that he only helped because it was too windy to do yard work. I didn't care though, I was happy for the help! This is another small one for the baby. It's 80 squares. The frustrating thing about these blankets is that by the time you're done they are half the size that you started with! If I make anymore I will defintinely start with bigger squares, maybe 8''?

Fire Station Tour

Tuesday Ryan gave a preschool class a tour of the fire station so Tally and I tagged along. She had never seen the fire trucks before so we figured it would be a good time to take her and let her see what dad does when he's away.

The water controls on the side of the truck
Sitting in the driver's seat. She wouldn't dare touch the steering wheel though.
In dad's boots!

Tally and fireman dad, she didn't dare wear his helmet either. Are firemen scary?

The "No pattern, pattern"

Blanket #2 is finished! Sunday during conference my mother in law, Nanette, got out her sewing machine and helped me start the second blanket. She's great at sewing and since it was the biggest blanket of the 3 I was really excited for her help! They ended up leaving after the second session of conference so I had to send them a picture of the finished project.

Tally decided that beacuse it was her blanket she needed to be in a picture.

This blanket was 126 squares and it was so hard to create a pattern with. It took all the women plus the men to agree on how it should look. I think it ended up looking great though. My mom says I might be a proffessional seamstress yet, I'm not so sure.

Easter Gifts!

Tally was so excited to know that the Easter bunny was coming to her house to bring her "presents and toys," as long as she didn't have to see him. Sunday morning she saw this...
Showing her movie off- it was so funny, she had never seen this movie and she was already making up a story to tell us about it.
She carried her bubble mower all the way over to us.
New Easter Dress!
Easter morning brought snow at our house. So we ended up mowing the carpet for a few minutes, but not long, The carpet was starting to get wet. :)

Thank you Easter Bunny!

Then came all the presents from the Grandparents. Did I mention my daughter is super spoiled?

Grandma and Grandpa Wilstead gave Tally a giant marshmellow sucker and a bag of Reeses.
Grandma and Grandpa Kunz sent a bag full of goodies.
Bunny ears, books, Color Wonder (I love it!), a puzzle, candy and money hidden in eggs.
Grandma and Grandpa Morris gave Tally a new spring outfit.

Because she's a girl, she had to immediately try it on!
It was her choice to wear the next day too. ;)

Tally has such great Grandparents. She's so lucky!

Egg Hunt

That afternoon we got together with my family for an Easter Egg Hunt. It was too cold to do it outside (for the second year in a row) so we all gathered at the UBATC to party. The difference with Tally a year later is crazy! She was all over the eggs and candy, no help needed! It was so fun to watch.
The "Hunters"

And they're off!

Tally's basket was over flowing by the time she was done hunting! Things were falling out as she was putting them in!

Saturday Morning Easter

We had lots of fun this Easter. A lot of Ryan's family was able to join us this year because his birthday and Easter were so close together. We started off Saturday by going to an "Easter Eggstravaganza" at our local grocery store. Every year for Easter and Halloween this store throws a small carnvial for kids. They get candy, pictures with the Easter bunny, there's a fish pond, coloring in the aisles etc. Tally always seems to really enjoy it once she gets passed "the bunny".
Coloring
Fish pond
All of her candy!

Old Man!

Ryan turned 26 on Saturday, but I didn't get a chance to get to the computer because we were also celebrating Easter. We had a party for him on Friday night at my parent's house and Ryan's mom, stepdad and siblings were all able to be there as well. It was fun to get together, and Ryan got some great things for his birthday! My mom took pictures and I don't have them so I will have to add them later.
HAPPY 26 RYAN!
LOVE YOU!
