Finally Outside

Since Ryan got off of work on Thursday we have spent the majority of our days outside. We went and bought flowers (my Mother's Day present from Ryan and Tally), bark, edging and pots. We haven't completely finished the yard, but what we have done we really like. Hopefully we can get more done before Ryan goes back to work Wednesday, unless we have a baby of course. ;)

Tally was very willing to help water the flowers
Kids in the neighborhood apparently decided Ryan needed a lot of help planting the snap dragons.

Timber!

Before I begin this post I have 2 things that must be said first:

#1 To all of my neighbors who were at their house on Monday: I am terribly sorry about the noise, alas chainsaws can be loud.

#2 Nanette: This was all Ryan's idea! Keep that in mind as you look at the pictures.

Alright we can begin.

Sunday night Trent and Jenny came over for dinner and games. Somehow we got on the subject of Ryan needing a chainsaw because he wanted to get rid of the trees in the backyard. It just so happens that Trent has a chainsaw...
Before

During: It's amazing what you can do with a harness and a chainsaw

I was not there for the second tree so there aren't any pictures of that one. Which I was ok with since it was Ryan's turn to be in the tree. Turns out it was a good thing I wasn't there, Ryan ended up cutting part of the harness and almost cut the safety line. (Once again HIS idea to do this)  But by the time I was home from work both trees were down.

Right now my back yard looks like the perfect habitat for a beaver if there was a river running through it. The first tree got picked up and taken away but the second is still there because of lack of time. Hopefully on one of Ryan's days off this week we can get it picked up and hauled away.

I also don't have an after picture yet! I didn't want all of the wood on the ground so you'll have to wait for that one.

The Second day..

Here are pictures from our recent yard work from yesterday. Most of you probably aren't interested, but I'm posting these because I'm proud. :)

Yesterday we trim one tree and took out another completely. Planted two hanging pots, a pot, and two huge pots, created a corner flower bed, took out 3 railroad ties, filled a spot in the middle of the lawn with sod from making the flower bed, preened, planted flowers under a tree, and picked lots of weeds!

I wish I would've taken more pictures but we were too busy! For dinner we ended up BBQing some beef and heating up a can of corn.. we were exhausted. I'm not sure how Ryan did at work today yet.

We plan on doing more yard work the next time he goes on days off, which isn't for a while. Now I just hope I can keep all my flowers alive! I have so many to take care of now!

Yard Work

Today Ryan and I decided to tackle the yard. We weeded the flower beds, planted flowers, preened everything, cut out grass around the tree and planted some pots. It went from this...

To this...

Stay tuned for more!!
